“Might the Russian audience view the exhibition with a certain prejudice, typical toward the former distant Soviet republics?”
“Perhaps. Or, conversely, maybe not. (Many of the artists studied in Moscow and Leningrad and speak Russian better than some Muscovites.) Just the other day, one of our participants was detained by the police and thrown into a holding cell. Will she still want to take part in Russian projects after that?”
